To My Children

I am deeply sorry things turned out the way they did. I made my mistakes and learned from them, but it took losing the two of you to come to that realization. I have always loved you and tried to care for you when you were little and with me, to the best of my ability.  We were overcome by circumstances that were beyond our control and as a result, I had to learn the hard way and without you.  I will always miss you and love you more than anything and hope that someday the two of you will come to know that.  You will always be in my heart and soul.  Lastly, I want to thank you.  For dealing with these circumstances which forced me to own up to my mistakes, learn from them, and move forward in my life.  I am on the road to “recovery” and if it weren’t for you, I would never have gotten here. Always remember what I told you years ago, “No matter what happens, I will always love you.”
